Slender Body wraps® produces far infrared heat (FIR), which is actually a wave length of light that we can’t see, but can feel as heat. All warm blooded animals, including humans, generate this type of heat naturally to warm themselves, and more than half of the sun’s heat is infrared as well.  Slender Body Wraps Unit generates infrared heat in the 5-15 micron wavelength, the same wavelength as the sun and our bodies produce, so it is safe and natural.  During a Body wrap session, far infrared heat is generated very close to the body, and can penetrate 3-6 centimeters, heating areas where fats and toxins have been stored. Many fats and toxins are soluble at temperatures of just over 100 degrees, these fats and toxins, including cholesterol, heavy metals and acids, can be dissolved and excreted.  Intense sweating increases metabolic rates, blood flow, tissue oxygenation and burns calories during the wrap and for some time afterward. Studies show that approximately 15% of the sweat during  infrared treatments are composed of undesirable fats and toxins. In  comparison only to 3-5% are eliminated through regular exercise.  Treatment areas may be targeted according to individual needs. You will increase microcirculation, promote skin detoxification and reduce cellulite.
Weight Loss
Most people will sweat substantially during a 30-45 minute Slender Body Wrap session. The age old question… Isn’t it just water weight?  Not really, there can be a short term loss of water-weight due to sweating, some of this may be regained by hydration.  However the fats and toxins in the sweat, as much as 15%, are NOT re-gained but eliminated.  Clinical research has also established that sweating is an energy-intensive process. It can speed up the metabolism, resulting in dramatically increased caloric burn. Simply put, sweating burns calories at a high rate. The metabolism can remain elevated for several hours after a session.  Therefore a session can burn calories both during and after.  Repeated sessions result in weight loss through the combination of burning calories and removal of fats and toxins. This is why Slender Body Wraps Infrared sessions are so different!
Cellulite Reduction
Fat becomes water-soluble at a body temperature of approximately 100.5 degrees F and can disolve into                smaller particles, which is then eliminated through infrared induced sweating.  Studies on infrared, have discovered it can help the appearance of cellulite do its ability to help rebuild collagen connective tissue. Stronger collagen can help prevent further accumulation of cellulite.
Skin Rejuvenation
Studies suggest that far infrared stimulates the production of cell tissue and rapidly promotes the regeneration of skin and blood tissue. Infrared heat can be helpful with a variety of aging factors such as wrinkling, uneven skin pigmentation, and the loss of skin elasticity. Expelling the toxins from stress in sweat can help rebalance both digestion and metabolism that adversely impact the skin.
The sweat produced in a session can consist of about 85% water. Compare this to sweat produced by exercise or non-infrared sauna, which is often about 95% water. The difference is in the elimination of fat and toxins due to infrared heat induced sweat.  Slender Body Wraps infrared heat therapy can be effective in removing fats, cholesterol, ammonia, sulfuric acid, nicotine, alcohol, and metals. These can be dissolved and removed through sweating and bodily elimination which is increased with metabolism.
Pain Relief
We all know that heating pads can soothe pain and that heat has been well documented in the treatment of pain relief. The penetrating infrared heat can result in immediate therapeutic benefit through increased blood flow and tissue oxygenation and may also act directly on irritated nerve endings. Clinical research has established that an infrared treatment such as a Slender Body Wraps session can increase blood flow from 5-7 quarts per minute to about  13 quarts per minute. Studies found that chronic pain patients experienced a 70% reduction in pain levels after the first infrared therapy session. Many insurances are now providing payment for these treatments. That’s how effective they are!
